Almost Preppy Stripes

It's finished! Well, except for the border. And the 100s of ends (or at least it seems that way right now) I'm just surprised I got it this far without giving up on it. I like it, but didn't think it would have that much yellow in it. Not my favorite color, but it works in this afghan.

I probably have enough of Red Heart Cornflower yet, to do the first afghan in Tender Lovin' Care Afghans. Not enough of the other colors though, so that idea is on hold. I may try something totally different for my next project.

Corner to Corner Afghan

This is a one week afghan! While recovering from a heart procedure, I could do nothing but sit on my couch and crochet. So I did.

The pattern is from Bernat, but no longer available on the web, unless it is archived. I printed it out in 2006, and this is the 3rd one I've made from this pattern. I really like the colors of this one, which kept me crocheting on it until it was finished!

Earflap hat

It's a little big for an eight year old, but it must be warm! I'm not that happy with how it turned out, because all I see is green. The green and the turquoise combine to kind of take over the color of this yarn.

This is as close as I could get without her finding out I was taking the picture! Her computer screen looks blank, but she's actually on the Webkins site. Funny how that doesn't show up in the picture. The mess on the desk is not mine! Although mine is almost as bad!

Scarf in linked double crochet

I saw a scarf I liked in Painted Desert Varigated by Red Heart that was hand knit. I decided I could crochet something similiar. I used linked double crochet with a row of sc in between each row. I like the way this looks at lot better than just using the linked dc by itself.

The blanket the scarf is on is a microfiber one crocheted together with a darker blue blanket. This is the softest, warmest blanket in the world! Princess agrees, I think I just woke her up taking this picture!

Fleece Blanket

I found fleece blankets on sale that I couldn't resist. Two for $5 at Family Dollar. The two colors I absolutely love don't exactly go together, but I like how they turned out. I crocheted them together with Aran, not quite as white as the picture appears. It was a quick and easy project for something different from what I have been crocheting lately. Just a row of sc and a row of shells. They're so soft warm, and will be great to wrap up in to watch TV (and crochet!)

So Far....

Ashley's hat

Andrea's hat and scarf
Ashley's hat is Red Heart Earth and Sky. There will be fingerless gloves to match. (Someday!)
Andrea's hat is Red Heart Frosty Green Fleck, which is a little darker in person than this pic shows. The scarf needs another 3 inches and it will be finished. There will be mittens to match, that will get done a lot faster than the fingerless gloves!

Plum Pudding Round Ripple

After finally finding my camera cord, this is my granddaughter, Ashley's afghan. It's Plum Pudding varigated, Dark Orchid, Fuschia, and Lt. Plum. This thing is huge which explains why there is only one round of Lt. Plum. To add another round of Lt. Plum would have made this afghan as big as a room sized rug! Not exactly the size an 11 year old wants to wrap up in.
